After it passes the review process, it will reside in test repository until 3.1 final is released (~ April 15) and then it will be copied to stable 2008 repository. Changes of the package: - 9 packages (libwps, sablotron, lpsolve, hunspell, unixODBC, redland, mdbtools, poppler and vigra) is now used from system instead of bundled ones. - New Galaxy icons are set as default instead of the default crystal theme. - Files related to python, KDE3, and KDE4 are now in different packages. - Language files and help files are split to different packages, so in Turkish Pardus CD we can now exclude language files other than Turkish and we can also include Turkish help files, if we want. - .desktop files are updated from upstream to include new filetypes supported. - We now have 4 new upstream extensions: pdfimport, report-builder, wiki- publisher and presenter screen. - pyuno is now working, we can write python scripts and process Office files using pyuno bindings. - With hunspell dictionaries, it's possible to enable spellcheck on every language we support, except Turkish :) New zemberek extension is on the way as a seperate zemberek-openoffice3 package. I've written how I prepared the tarball inside pspec.xml. It would be good to write somewhere that we are using Go-OO as an OpenOffice flavour. But, summary and description are not suitable for this, I think. Because it's not a valuable information for end-users. For an end-user point of view it's OpenOffice.org, and name of the system that adds some patches and a build system for OOo is useless in this sense. Gentoo and SuSE for example also use Go-OO but, this information is not written to summary/description texts. Of course, you have to install pardus-python from trunk until the new version is released. You can also ignore conflicts with old xorg-app if you want to install the package.
