Anyway, I removed gtk-vnc (was a mistake) and added virt-viewer as a dependency now. I've also prepared virt-viewer for review, will send an email for it in a minute. gtk-vnc is not needed for building i guess. Right, it was a mistake, it's not needed neither for building nor for running this package. gtk-vnc is a dependency of virt-viewer though. As we don't yet have Xen libraries in Pardus and I did not choose to write virtualbox as a dependency to libvirt, virt-manager will only be able to manage qemu and kvm type of virtualization methods. Other methods can be enabled as we see necessary. The package requires some packages such as gnome-python, rarian and a few other packages from Contrib repository. Unless we decide to move those dependencies to the main repo, the package will be living in contrib-2009 repo. Unless decided otherwise, review for Contrib-2009 please. The main dependencies from the contrib repo seems to be: - rarian: configure script fails if it can't find scrollkeeper - gnome-python: without this, virt-manager compiles fine, but does not run, complaining that python can't import "gconf" module. I'm not sure if it would be possible to isolate this module alone to get inside the main repo. Installing gconf alone is not sufficient. Gnome-Python is depending on the following packages: pygtk libgnomeui libgnomecanvas gnome-vfs gconf libbonoboui pyorbit (all in main repo). >From these, pygtk, gnome-vfs and gconf are also dependencies of virt-manager. All are in main repo. Through libgnomeui, which is a contrib package, gnome-keyring also comes in, which virt-manager uses if it finds at compile&runtime, but can also live without. They install a total of around 4 Mbytes on disk. I don't know if we can devide this gnome-python to take out a gnome-python-gconf package, which can live in main repo and depend only to main repo elements. From gnome-python, dependencies libgnomeui, libbonoboui and pyorbit are contrib packages. I don't know if a gnome-python-gconf package would need to depend on them. I've now simplified the dependencies a bit, taking into account the python module dependencies and direct dependencies that the library links to.
