Dear Pardus developers,
Recently I've migrated from Fedora to Pardus. One of the main reasons
for my migration was the failure of Fedora's Network Manager in
connecting to the eduroam. Unfortunately, I still haven't managed to
connect to the network. The network applet simply reports that
"Authentication Failed" even though I correctly enter my account
information (I know this because, I know it's not a nice thing to say
but, I can connect perfectly well from within Windows XP using the same
credentials). Also, I don't think that it is an adapter related issue
since I can connect to the access point I've setup at home easily.
You can find the procedures to connect to the eduroam from my university
at http://luchthaven.tudelft.nl/engels/peap.htm (using PEAP for Windows)
and at http://luchthaven.tudelft.nl/engels/ttls.htm (using TTLS for Ubuntu).
While searching for clues on how to connect, I found some articles
assisting to connect via wpa_supplicant. I gave a shot but couldn't
advance further than these:
dutsm0175 ~ # cat /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf
network={
ssid="eduroam"
key_mgmt=IEEE8021X
eap=TTLS
phase2="auth=PAP"
anonymous_identity="anonymous at tudelft.nl"
identity="etasci at tudelft.nl"
password="xxxx"
}
dutsm0175 ~ # wpa_supplicant -w -B -i wlan0 -c /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf
-D wext
dutsm0175 ~ # iwconfig
lo no wireless extensions.
wlan0 IEEE 802.11g ESSID:off/any

Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0
eth0 no wireless extensions.
dutsm0175 ~ # dhclient wlan0

I don't know how to proceed from here... Any help appreciated.
With my thanks in advance,
Emre Sururi
