[Pardus-users] SAMBA sharing between two Pardus systems

Hi altogether,

members from our German Pardus community (PardusUse.de) noticed that SAMBA
sharing between two Pardus operating systems is not working
(http://forum.pardususer.de/index.php?topic=279.0).

We tried several variants as below:

1.) Pardus → Pardus is not working
You can't connect shared folders. Konqueror and Smb4K did also not help out.

2.) Pardus → PCLinuxOS and MS Win. Vista is working properly
Konqueror shows the SAMBA groups of PCLinuxOS and MS Windows Vista, but it
doesn't shows any shared folder, we also get an error message, that the group
is not existing (?). This issue we also reproduced in other Linux operating
systems like PCLinuxOS 2007, Mandriva 2009 and Ubuntu 8.03 – so we are sure
that this is not a Pardus specific issue. It has more with KDE and especially
Konqueror to do.
Smb4K shows groups and shared folder without any error messages.

3.) PCLinuxOS --> Pardus is working
Groups, which we configured in Tasma are simply not existing for other
operating systems. In example PCLinuxOS can't find any SAMBA group of Pardus.
You simply can't access SAMBA shares of Pardus from other Linux operating
systems.

I also posted bug reports in the bug-tracking:
http://bugs.pardus.org.tr/show_bug.cgi?id=8750
http://bugs.pardus.org.tr/show_bug.cgi?id=8716

In earlier releases of Pardus (PRDS 2008) this worked without any problems.
Now it is nearly impossible. We don't know what is getting wrong with SAMBA
and Pardus :-/

Hope someone can help out.

Best regards,
Gürkan ZENGIN
