Pardus 2008 has reached End-Of-Life.

Pardus 2008 - which was released on June 27, 2008 and updated on
September 15, 2008 and January 31, 2009 - is freezing it's binary
repositories and stopping update service.

Since its release nearly two years ago, Pardus Project has released a
new major version : Pardus 2009 - and two minor updates :Pardus 2009.1
Anthropoides virgo and Pardus 2009.2 Geronticus
eremita. With the release of Pardus 2009.1, Pardus 2008 was announced as
"Security Updates Only". And after the release of Pardus 2009.2, now its
time to stop all updates and announce "End Of Life" for Pardus 2008. The
stable binary repos for 2008 and contrib will be frozen, Pardus 2008
buildfarms and 2008-test repo will be shut-down, and 2008 source repo
will be tagged as 'tags/2008-EOL'.

We strongly recommend our users who are still using Pardus 2008 to
update their systems to Pardus 2009, and be safe and up-to-date by
following Pardus updates. [**]

As the members of Pardus 2008 stable team, we'd like thank all our
developers and users for their great effort in making Pardus 2008 a
great product. Without this continuous effort, Pardus 2008 would not be
half of what it is today - thanks again..
